3D Seismic
Survey Design should be employed before investing a lot of money in
expensive seismic field work. We have seen a number of 3D surveys in
recent years where the advantages of Point Source / Point Receiver
have not been realised due to lack of Survey Design with respect to
basic sampling theory, other seismic attributes and the original
interpretation requirements of the 3D Seismic Survey.... resulting in
less-than-optimum results.
The Seismic
Source is arguably the most important part of a Seismic Survey.
Careful attention must be paid to the geophysical characteristics of
the different source types and configurations and comparisons of
vintage Seismic Surveys must be made.
Seismic
Data Processing is a scientific procedure based on
time-series analysis and analytical thinking. We have the combination of brain-power, man-power and computer-power required to
optimise seismic data quality, even if data acquisition is not
optimal. We also have a large suite of processing and imaging
software with state of the art algorithms such as 5D Fourier
Regularisation.
